Performance is torquey but not as good as I expected. I think the 2.8 BMW unit is quiet de-tuned to only put out 193hp by today's standards. The car does not feel as fast and has nowhere near the mid-range pick up as my VW Bora TDi 130. The Z3 2.8 is great in 5th gear; it will continue pulling rapidly from 60-110mph.

Aug 1, 2017 · Narrow pre-facelift rear wings are a b*gger to find rust free. Widebody pre-facelift not that much better. Facelift easier. The rear bumpers are different as well as the sills. I have a rust free pair of widebody wings and matching rear bumper. The sills are sold.

For the 1999 and 2000 model year, M Coupes came with BMW’s S52 3.2 liter inline six with “only” 240 HP and 236 ft-lbs of torque, and as a result cars from these two years are relatively affordable.
